Many factors contribute to landfill cell construction and differ from site to site. These factors include the geology of the area, the water table and any adjacent rivers or other water sources. Terra relies on it’s highly-skilled staff and extensive landfill construction experience when constructing cells to exacting tolerances, such as laying liners and membranes to prevent gas and leachate leakage and installing pipe work and wells for gas and leachate extraction.
Terra also provides landfill / waste pile cell capping, which seals the waste in the landfill cell and prevents any uncontrolled gas leakage to the surface. The cell can then be completed with site restoration services including the addition of layers of soil suitable for the re-establishment of fauna (animal life) and flora (plant life).
