The cleaning of sewers 36” in diameter and larger present challenges to conventional cleaning methods such as combination sewer cleaning units producing flows of 80 GPM @ 2,000 PSI. Those challenges include:

  • Larger debris accumulations
  • Larger size debris
  • Higher sewer flows
  • Access issues, including sewer depths and water resources

To address those challenges, Terra Contracting has developed a cleaning system that delivers 200 GPM at 2,000 PSI and an inline water recycler. The benefits of using Terra’s high flow system include:

  • Eliminating costly bypass pumping by cleaning large diameter sewers under live flow conditions
  • Reducing the disruption to everyday activities by conveying larger debris volumes back to an extraction point
  • Safe and efficient removal of large size debris (such as boulders, manhole lids, car parts, etc.) from one access point
  • Remote setup and cleaning of sewer systems that are not near a road system with minimal or no disturbance to landscape
  • Closed-loop system provides zero odor and zero particulate emission
  • Use of an Inline Water Recycler allows the system to reuse the water extracted from the sewer system instead of utilizing a portable water supply such as a hydrant system
  • With high flow units, the water source is critical and the demand can be taxing on aging water mains
